The master switch many ignore or don't understand.
Methylation is happening in every cell of your body, right now. It influences your energy, your mood, your focus, your hormones and how you age. When it runs well, you're unaware of it, but you feel better. When it doesn't, the effects can be varied and easy to misread. This package measures your methylation properly, it includes biochemistry and genetic testing and considers them in relationship and in the context of your life, so the plan that follows is based on what is actually happening, rather than a single gene.
Purchase the Methylation Package →Methylation is not just one gene. It is a system.
Methylation is the process involving moving a small chemical tag or baton (a methyl group CH3) from one molecule to another, that then acts like a lever or a switch. It is one of the most fundamental biochemical processes in the body, and it runs in every cell, all the time. It switches genes on and off (or up or down), builds and breaks down neurotransmitters, processes hormones, supports detoxification and repairs DNA.
Methylation affects so many things. When methylation is functioning well, the effects include stable energy, clear cognition, balanced mood and healthy ageing. When it is impaired, through genetics, nutritional deficiencies, or chronic stress, the downstream effects can include fatigue, mood instability, hormonal imbalance, elevated cardiovascular risk and accelerated cellular ageing and disease.
Many people have heard the popular story of methylation being reduced to the explanation or relationship to a single gene, MTHFR. That is a fraction of the picture. Methylation is a cycle, not one gene or enzyme, and it depends on a network of nutrients including folate, B12, B6, zinc, magnesium and others, working together. This package looks at the whole system and how well yours is working.

Biochemistry and Genetics... not just genes
A gene variant tells you about predisposition. Biochemistry tells you about what is actually happening right now. These are different questions, and the order matters.
Homocysteine is a useful marker here. It is a by-product of the methylation cycle, so a raised level is a practical, functional signal that the cycle is struggling, even when a standard B12 result looks perfectly acceptable. It tells us what your methylation is doing today, not what it might do one day. A gene tells us the capability of one section of the cycle and whether there is risk of a bottle neck, or a pathway slowing down.
That's why I measure the biochemistry first or as well, homocysteine, your B-vitamin status, your nutrient cofactors, and then I use the DNA methylation report to explain something we have already found, and understand risks or vulnerabilities and strengths. If your biochemistry is unremarkable, a gene result rarely changes what I would advise, and I will tell you that rather than sell you supplements against it.
What's included.
- ✦DNA methylation report, your broader genetic methylation profile, interpreted in context
- ✦Comprehensive methylation biochemistry testing (over $800), at cost
- ✦Pre-consult screening, questionnaire and onboarding
- ✦Nutrition consultation and results review
- ✦Personal results summary and recommendations report
The Process - Four steps.
Onboarding & screening
Pre-consult screening, questionnaire and onboarding completed before we meet, so the first consultation is getting to know you rather than admin.
Testing
Comprehensive methylation biochemistry testing and your DNA methylation report
Results consultation
Your biochemistry and genetic methylation profile reviewed, with your methylation nutrient cofactors read in context
Personal report
A written results summary and recommendations report including a including diet and supplement recommendations as needed.
Who this is for.
- ✓People with persistent fatigue, low mood or brain fog that standard tests have not explained
- ✓Those who have been told their B12 is "normal" but still do not feel right
- ✓People with a family or personal history of cardiovascular or mood concerns
- ✓High performers looking to optimise cognitive function and healthy ageing
- ✓Anyone who has read about MTHFR and wants the full, functional picture
Who it is not for.
This package assesses and supports methylation and nutritional health. It does not diagnose or treat disease and does not replace medical care. If results are outside of nutrition scope, I will tell you and recommend you get other professionals involved. I am always happy to work collaboratively.
If your biochemistry is unremarkable, the honest answer may be that methylation is not your issue, at least we have ruled it out. I won't recommend supplements that aren't needed as they can cause more harm than help.
Common questions.
Measure the system, not the myth.
Methylation is too important to reduce to a single gene. Find out how yours is actually running, and build a plan around the real picture.
