    Foundation Health Package

Start with what is actually true.

Most people arrive with a theory about what is wrong, and a drawer full of supplements bought against it. Some are right. Many are not. This package establishes your baseline properly — what your habits are doing, and what your biochemistry says about it — so that what comes next is based on evidence rather than assumption.

Foundations first. It is less exciting and it works better.

There is a version of this work that begins with expensive, specialised testing and produces an impressive-looking report. I do not start there, and not because those tests lack value.

I start here because in a great many cases the answer is already sitting in the basics — iron that has been low for years, a thyroid nobody has checked properly, an alcohol intake that has crept up quietly, sleep that has never recovered from a demanding period. These are cheap to measure, common, and genuinely fixable.

If your foundations are sound and you still do not feel right, that is valuable information too. It tells us the answer lies somewhere more specific, and we will go and look for it properly.

Two halves of the same picture.

    Your habits, measured properly

A structured questionnaire covering six areas with the strongest evidence behind them: movement, food quality, eating pattern, alcohol and substances, sleep and rhythm, and connection and purpose.

Each area is scored separately, which matters more than any overall number. Most people are strong in some areas and hollow in others, and knowing which is which is what makes a plan realistic rather than aspirational.

    Your biochemistry, at baseline

Standard pathology covering liver function, thyroid function, full iron studies, cholesterol and lipids, blood glucose and insulin, vitamin D, B12 and folate, homocysteine and inflammatory markers.

Where it adds something, a zinc and copper profile with ceruloplasmin, and testing of the genetic markers relevant to how you process nutrients.

A word on genetic testing, because it is widely oversold.

Genetic testing is useful. It is also the area of this field where the most nonsense is sold, and I would rather be straight with you about how I use it.

I measure the biochemistry first. Homocysteine tells us whether a pathway is genuinely underperforming right now. A gene variant only tells us about predisposition — and some of the variants marketed most aggressively are carried by a large proportion of the population without consequence.

So genetics is used here to explain something we have already measured, not to go looking for problems. If your bloodwork is unremarkable, a gene result rarely changes what I would advise, and I will tell you that rather than sell you the test.

Where testing is warranted, we will discuss what it does and does not tell you, and what it may mean for your family, before anything is ordered.

    Four steps.

    1.

    Questionnaire

Completed before we meet, so the first consultation starts with substance rather than admin.

    2.

    Initial consultation

Full history, your questionnaire profile, physical measures, and a decision together on which testing is genuinely warranted.

    3.

    Testing

Standard pathology through your GP where Medicare criteria are met. Any additional testing through NutriPATH, at cost.

    4.

    Results consultation

Your results explained in plain terms, a written foundations plan, and an honest recommendation about whether anything further is needed.

    What's included.

    • The lifestyle foundations assessment, scored across six domains
    • Two consultations, including a full history and physical measures
    • Full interpretation of your pathology results
    • A written plan, prioritised rather than exhaustive
    • A clear recommendation on whether a further pathway is warranted — including if the answer is no

Investment.Consultations are charged at standard rates. Laboratory fees are passed through at cost, with a flat $300 clinical review and interpretation fee applied per package. You will have a clear figure before anything is ordered.

    Who this is for.

    • Anyone who wants a proper baseline rather than a guess
    • People who have never had comprehensive bloodwork, or not for some years
    • Those who feel generally below par without an obvious cause
    • People taking supplements without knowing whether they need them
    • Anyone deciding where to focus first, with limited time and attention to spend

    Who it is not for.

If you have a specific, complex or long-standing problem that has already been investigated thoroughly, this package will likely tell you what you already know. One of the more specialised pathways will serve you better, and I am happy to advise which at a first consultation.

This package assesses and supports nutritional and lifestyle health. It does not diagnose or treat disease and does not replace medical care. Where results belong with your GP, I will tell you clearly and promptly.

    Common questions.

    Know, rather than guess.

A clear baseline is the least glamorous thing I offer and the one I recommend most often. It is difficult to improve something you have never measured.
